Pop Superstar To Perform ONE LAST TIME! At Wells Fargo Center On June 13
Public Can Trade a New or Gently Used Musical Instrument for Free Tickets to Manilow’s ONE LAST TIME! Concert At Wells Fargo Center
[Philadelphia, PA] – Legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilow is donating a Yamaha Keyboard to the School District of Philadelphia and launching a local musical instrument drive to support his upcoming performance during his ONE LAST TIME! tour at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, June 13.
Manilow is encouraging others to support the drive by offering a free pair of tickets to his show at the Wells Fargo Center to anyone who donates a new or gently used musical instrument to the Wells Fargo Center box office, beginning on Wednesday, June 3 and continuing through Saturday, June 13 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
“I know firsthand how invaluable music education is,” said Manilow. “It is a privilege for me to help bring the gift of music to these kids.”
The Wells Fargo Center will be the base for the instrument drive in Philadelphia, from now through June 13, 2015. The instrument drop off location at Wells Fargo Center is open between Mon-Fri 10p-6p.
“The School District of Philadelphia has a rich history of music education, producing many of the world finest musicians,” said Dr. William R. Hite, Superintendent. “Thanks to the dedication, talent, and resiliency of our music educators, our fine arts programs continue to thrive despite challenging fiscal conditions. Unfortunately, several hundred of our instruments are in dire need of repair or replacement. The Manilow Music Project’s generous contributions will provide critical resources to students as part of the ‘Keys for Philly Kids’ campaign, aimed at acquiring technology-enhanced pianos and music production labs to help the next generation of musicians meet their career goals. We greatly appreciate Barry Manilow’s support.”
The Manilow Music Project (MMP) is part of The Manilow Fund for Health and Hope. Its primary focus is to provide musical instruments to high schools and middle schools and to provide music scholarships at universities throughout the US, Canada, and the UK.
