Pop Superstar To Perform ONE LAST TIME! In San Jose On April 18
Public Can Trade a New or Gently Used Musical Instrument for Free Tickets to Manilow’s ONE LAST TIME! Concert
[San Jose, CA] – Legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilow is “hitting the road” ONE LAST TIME! and hopes others will follow his philanthropic lead as he donates a Yamaha piano to launch a local instrument drive during his ONE LAST TIME! Tour for the San Jose Unified School District. Anyone who donates a new or gently used musical instrument to the SAP Center at San Jose Box Office will receive two free tickets (valid for pre-selected seat locations) for Manilow’s April 18 concert in San Jose, CA.
“I know firsthand how invaluable music education is,” said Manilow. “It is a privilege for me to help bring the gift of music to these kids,” he continued.
SAP Center at San Jose Box Office will be the base for the instrument drive in San Jose, from now through April 18, 2015. The instrument drop off location at the SAP Center at San Jose Box Office is open Mon-Fri 10am-3:00pm.
“We are honored to celebrate music in our schools with the Barry Manilow Music Project. San José Unified School District students flourish in our fine arts program and they build on that becoming successful in other core subject areas. In addition to exposing our students to the fine arts and developing an appreciation for music, music also develops creativity— a 21st Century skill as identified in our strategic plan, Opportunity21. The generosity of Mr. Manilow and our entire San José community will only contribute to further develop the skill set our students need to be successful in the 21st Century. We appreciate Mr. Manilow’s generous spirit.”–Dr. Vincent Matthews, SJUSD Superintendent of Schools.
The Manilow Music Project (MMP) is part of The Manilow Fund for Health and Hope. Its primary focus is to provide musical instruments to high schools and middle schools and to provide music scholarships at universities throughout the US, Canada, and the UK. More information on the Manilow Music Project can be found at www.manilowmusicproject.org.
