Milwaukee is grateful for Manilow Music Project’s contributions to keep the music alive in public schools. Barry Applewhite, Principal of the Milwaukee High School of the Arts, quoted Martin Luther King Jr. and stated, “Martin Luther King, Jr. once said:  ‘The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.’ I appreciate the generous donations of Mr. Manilow because music is a part of education for many of the students that attends Milwaukee HS of the Arts.  It is the gift of music that becomes an integral part of our student’s educational lives that gives them the resources to think intensively and critically which gives many of them a voice in our society.  Mr. Manilow’s efforts symbolize the acts of “Paying It Forward”.  These precious gifts of instruments will truly create a better tomorrow for our students.”

The Manilow Music Project (MMP) is part of The Manilow Fund for Health and Hope.  It was formed as a grass roots organization to assist local charities and programs.  Its primary focus is to provide musical instruments to high schools and middle schools and to provide music scholarships at universities throughout the US, Canada, and the UK.
