Public Can Trade a New or Gently Used Musical Instrument For Free Tickets to Manilow’s August 2nd Concert
[Cuyahoga Falls, OH—July 10, 2012] – Legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilow hopes others will once again follow his philanthropic lead as he donates a Yamaha piano to launch a local instrument drive for Akron Public Schools. Anyone who donates a new or gently used musical instrument to the Blossom Music Center Box Office will receive 2 free tickets (valid for pre selected seat locations) for Manilow’s August 2nd concert in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
“I’m thrilled to be able to help bring the gift of music to these kids,” states Manilow.
The Blossom Music Center Box Office will be the base for the instrument drive in Cuyahoga Falls, from now through August 2nd. Please call the box office ahead of time to schedule a drop off or stop by on any show day. Hours are between 1pm and 5pm Friday through Sunday or two hours prior to any show
“We are positively thrilled that Mr. Manilow chose Akron Public Schools to receive donated instruments from the community,” said Superintendent David James. “Akron Public Schools believes in the power of music education and these donations of new and or gently used instruments will help us expand our classroom efforts. On behalf of the students, teachers and the entire Akron Public School district, thank you Manilow Music Project.” Local Community public radio station, WAPS 91.3 The Summit will assist in the refurbishing and distribution of the donated instruments.
The Manilow Music Project (MMP) is part of The Manilow Fund for Health and Hope. It was formed as a grass roots organization to assist local charities and programs. Its primary focus is to provide musical instruments to high schools and middle schools and to provide music scholarships at universities throughout the US, Canada, and the UK.
